pygtk with numeric python support

I have tried rebuilding pygtk after installing Numpy and ended up making a mess of python. I have it back to functional now, but I would like to know how to properly add numeric python support. I suspect there is a proper order to building all of the python dependencies that yields success. Can anyone help me out? Ultimately I am trying to run mypaint.

You'll have to be more specific about the problems that you saw. I installed numpy via src2pkg and haven't seen any issues. Then again, I haven't attempted to recompile pygtk after having done so.

I just installed numpy from slackbuilds.org and then reran the pygtk.SlackBuild that came with my version of Slackware. The pygtk.SlackBuild automatically picks up numpy.

This link is for Slackware 13.1 numpy.

OK, I got it right this time. I had installed numpy already with no issue. I messed up somewhere the first time I tried to rebuild pygtk. After putting all my python libraries back to stock slackware and starting fresh I got it right this time. Numpy first then pygtk with the slackbuild script...success!

Thanks all,
Eric
