Hi, in order to run Nicotine i had to install pyGTK, but i am having some problems:
-install file says: ./configure --prefix=<prefix where python is installed>
what means prefix?
i've omited the '-prefix=<prefix where python is installed>' but i cant run nicotine cause: 'can not find required pyGTK paths........'
I've just done a quick install of nicotine with no luck.
I can only guess it needs a particular path specified for the setup
------ python install.py --prefix=<path> -------
I've gotten other python stuff going no problem.
as time permits I'll play with it...sorry for no quick answer.
Gontzzo,
Did you ever get nicotine running?
I got it running on my box, so if you still need help read on.
as sudo I did: python setup.py install --prefix=/usr
That got it installed.
as regular user I did: python /usr/bin/./nicotine
That got it running.
It should be noted that I did not follow the authors instructions for installing pygtk.
I installed pygtk-2.0.0 some time ago as a dep for another program. It was configured
as simply:
./configure --prefix=/usr
I installed nicotine on my Slack 9.1 laptop as a test while not on a network so I did'nt
use the thing, but it did start up without complaint.
