Puttying to Slackware box over the internet ..

This is going to sound like a really stupid question but what the hell is going on with this.

Basically I have a Slackware box on my local network and am using port forwarding on my router to forward anything destined for port 22 to my Slackware box.

Yet from the internet when I try to connect I get nothing. A similar port forward using my Windows box works great so I know port forwarding is configured ok.

My first thought was IPTABLES or similar but there are no rules in there to purge.

This is driving me mad, anybody have any ideas, I am running 12.4 if I rmemeber correctly.

Thanks guys,

Actually it doesn't matter, I just found the offending line in rc.inet1.conf, there was some duff configuration for br0 from a previous config.

Sorry guys, keep or delete as appropriate please mods ...

EDIT: Additional information for anyone interested is that the loopback address was different to the physical adapter address which was causing some problems (I.e. Couldn't ping either device ...)

HTH
