Pulseaudio Xfce panel icon background is not transparent

http://i.imgur.com/s5N7HFH.png

I think the icon is in a format that requires inkscape or something to open, so I haven't checked it out. I find it strange that anyone would make an icon without transparency so I assume it has something to do with the plugin itself? I would like to use a dark theme but this is bugging me.

Any idea how to fix?

You'd have to edit the icon in the source code to possibly do this, I think.

In other words I have to edit the icons in Inkscape? They are svg files and when I open them with geeqie they have transparency.

... So am I the only one having this problem or is it common?
