So, first

Quote:
sudo echo 'options snd_hda_intel enable=1,0' > /etc/modprobe.d/intel.conf
The order of sound cards in alsa is absolutely irrelevant for pulseaudio. It completely ignores it. So while this indeed helps prioritizing the standard sound output over HDMI, it does nothing the moment you use pulseaudio.

Second, he already stated that HDMI output is not the issue. The output bounces around the non-HDMI outputs, of which there are 2 internal and 1 USB.

Next,

Quote:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 0
}

ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 0
}
This is an invalid asoundrc. According to what I found, newer alsa breaks on having the "device 0" part in the ctl block. If you change it to

Quote:
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 0
}

ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
}
the alsamixer error should go away. However, in a pulseaudio setup, alsamixer is mostly useless, as it will point to pulseaudio by default, and not the sound cards. This will only mess with your pulseaudio setup so I suggest you just delete your .asoundrc and forget about alsamixer.

What is it exactly that you want? Route all audio to a specific device (if available)?

I appreciate your passion in this, but I fear this serves little value. For one, Slackware doesn't use nor even have systemd, or an rc.local like system.
Next, there's already plenty of threads on here detailing how to disable or even remove pulseaudio that are slackware specific.
Lastly, the OP never stated he wanted to get rid of pulseaudio, so...
