pulseaudio and qpaeq

qpaeq is the pulseaudio equalizer.

When I try to run it (on slackware64-current) I have the error message

Quote:

There was an error connecting to pulseaudio, please make sure you have the pulseaudio dbus module loaded, exiting...
I found this to solve the problem: https://askubuntu.com/questions/9808...udio-equalizer

Then after doing

Quote:

pactl load-module module-equalizer-sink
pactl load-module module-dbus-protocol
I can run qpaeq. There is also a suggestion to make this permanent, by adding

Quote:

load-module module-equalizer-sink
load-module module-dbus-protocol
in ~/.config/pulse/default.pa

But after that, when I start kde again, no sound at all is available.

What is then the correct way to make qpaeq always available ?

Run pavucontrol, on the tab "Output Devices", unmute the "FFT..." or set it as the default playback. On the tab "Playback" you can select the output device by applications(:

Thank you zhl, this makes the equalizer usable
