ProFTPD issue ?


when i connect to my FTP server i get this..

Status: Connecting to 192.168.0.30 ...
Status: Connected with 192.168.0.30. Waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220-BLABLABLA

Response: 331 Password required for XXXXX.

What is this ? And can i choose to not show these 5 lines ?

Did you tried with another FTP client? I dunno what command FEAT does (i could check the RFC but i'm tired too ) but that seems to be causing the responds from your server, which actually seems to show the server capabilities to the client.

By the way . .whats this .. cant get my TLS to work

Drop proftpd and use vsftpd or another secure ftp daemon. Even Patrick recommends this and has switched the default ftpd server to vsftpd from proftpd, cause they've been sitting on a security vulnerability for quite some time now.

compile by source or install slack package ??
