problems after compile kernel

hello

i just compiled a kernel.. did nothing fancy, just optimizing processor to amd athlon and removed some pcmia and laptop support, cause i am running a workstation. Also enabled acpi

i am having some messages at boot:

Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: 8regs : 2036.400 MB/sec
Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: 32regs : 1442.800 MB/sec
Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: pIII_sse : 2304.000 MB/sec
Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: pII_mmx : 3123.200 MB/sec
Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: p5_mmx : 4006.800 MB/sec
Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: raid5: using function: pIII_sse (2304.000 MB/sec)

why is it using pIII_sse function. i am having a athlon XP1500?

Dec 2 16:24:02 fluxie kernel: kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
I am not using scsi, and .. i disabled that module in rc.modules. why this error message?

Should i recompile again without SCSI ? i mean, i don't need that for my cd writer, cause i am directly using ATAPI
And should i disable RAID in the kernel?

my hardware is AMD athlonXP1500, 512DDRpc2100, maxtor 80GB 8mbcache, geforce4MX440se, philips combo CD/DVD

And my last question: When I only wanna recompile kerner to optimize processor to AMD, do i really need to compile new modules, or can u just follow the next steps:

make menuconfig
make dep
make clean
make bzImage
make
make install

And then forget about the modules.
Thanks a lot for anyone that can help me.

cheers

Are you using a software-raid, or none at
all? If none at all, turn it off :}

The scsi could be a problem because of
trying to use the ide-scsi emulation for CD-RW?

Cheers,
Tink
