Problems running Slackware 11 on Virtual Machine from WMWare Workstation 5

Hi all,

I'm trying to run the Slackware 11 on a virtual machihe created at a VMWare Workstation 5, with the default specifications (other linux, SCSI hard drive,...).

The installation process seems to be o.k., works fine without any warnings.

But when I boot the VM, just got a black screen with non-moving cursor.

I'v tried both custom and default installation, still the same problem.

Everything works fine with other distros(Fedora, Ubuntu, e.g.).

Anyone had the same problem or have any hints?

Hi all,

I solved the problem by installing Lilo in the MBR (wich is not considered the safety choice).

Everything works just fine.
