problem with wifi card

good evening lads!

i have just installed slack 12.2....everything work just fine, except one things that drives me almost crazy!!!

i have a TP-link GD-353 PCI wireless card that works perfect under winXP (booo!),previous vesions of ubuntu(+ndiswrapper), zenwalk 5.2(+ndiswrapper)...i have compiled the latest ndiswrapper vesion in slackware, configured it as documentation says,i use the same driver but i get weak signal all the time!so weak that i have no connectivity :-(

any ideas?

Welcome to LQ.

A lot more info will be needed to figure this out.

Please post the output of:

lspci -v
lsmod

Cheers

nice to meet you dear slack-comrades,jejeje!thanks for replying!

well,i am not right now in front of my pc,but i must say that lspci shows my wifi card as a 3com something type...the same happened when i had ubuntu and zenwalk, but then i had no problem...should i search for 3com drivers?

lsmod shows that module ndiswrapper is loaded normally.

kpackage shows that a file related to ndiswrapper is missing /etc/.../rc.newnetdevice or something...can that be so bad?

i could rollback to zenwalk, which is similar distro, and solve this problem but, hey,i love my slack :-)

finally i solve it!ndiswrapper had registered an alternate driver to the driver i defined...i have blacklisted it but i saw no progress...so,i tried to install the tp-link driver for windows2000 instead of the winXP i used until then...that solve the weak-signal-problem!later,i have made the rc.inet1.conf modifications that slack documentation suggests and i managed to connect!!!!

Could you still post
Code:
lspci -v
lsmod
That way, in the future, others can see the chipset, etc, and know if it is valid in their case.
