Did you try recompiling the kernel, or disabling the Legacy USB support in your BIOS (this might help).

Do not reinstall the OS for a such little thing, that won't solve anything

There is a driver for usb mouse, named 'usbmouse' check if it is loaded :
Code:
lsmod
if not, load it :
Code:
/sbin/modprobe usbmouse
If that fixed it, just add a ' modprobe usbmouse ' line in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules
to have it automatically loaded at boot

Now if that did not fixed it, you have to check if usb hid is loaded, also the
correct driver for your motherboard

Is the usbmouse module loaded ?
Maybe your setting is not correct for the mouse in xorg.conf
(the mouse device)

My USB mouse worked out of the box. I didn't need to change anything, and in my xorg.conf, it's using the imps2 driver.

I'm leaning towards the BIOS settings, myself.

1) How did you make your mouse work? (could be usefull for others having the same problem)
2) What sound card do you have? Do you remember the module you used in Fedore? (You can get the soundcard info with the command: lspci )
3) What's "alsa configuration", run alsaconf then alsamixer? Did alsaconf detected the card but it doesn't work?

I'm sorry if this sounds to interrogative, but it helps us to find the problem and others to see how to solve it

1.i disable legacy usb support in bios.then /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and make modprobe usbmouse active.
2.my sound card is creative sound blaster and i forgot the module which im used in fedora.
3-ya i have run alsaconf and alsamixer but it never detect the card.
