Problem with uninstall - newbie alert

Hi,

i'm triyng to uninstall wine, because i'm installing a new version, but i don't know how. i've removed it with pkgtool, but when i try to install the new one i get:

Warning !! wine binary (still) found, which may indicate
a (conflicting) previous installation.
You might want to abort and uninstall Wine first.
Running configure...

And i also get right after that:
./configure: line 88: conf15617.sh: Permission denied
./configure: line 89: conf15617.sh: Permission denied
chmod: getting attributes of `conf15617.sh': No such file or directory
./configure: line 201: conf15617.file: Permission denied
./configure: line 949: config.log: Permission denied

Seems like i have two problems, please help this poor newbie...

Did you install the first version of Wine yourself from source? If so, find the source you installed it from, make sure its ./configure'd, and then 'make uninstall' if possible.
