Problem with SLAMD64 wireless

I installed Slamd64 on a HPzv6000 notebooks. Then, I used ndiswrapper to install the driver for the Broadcom wireless card. I followed the instruction of the ndiswrapper wiki website and everything went well. The laptop recognized the card. But when I run
dhclient wlan0
it keep throwing me error messages and saying I got the wrong software.
Can anyone showed me what to do to fix this error?

I do. I installed Fedora Core 4 on this machine and got the wireless work OK. I want to give Slamd64 a try, since I am really fond of Slackware.

The error was not technical specific. It asked me if I was using the right software dowloaded from www.ics.com or something like that.

On Slackware and Slamd64, I've always used 'dhcpcd <network device>' to get an IP address from a DHCP server (I assume that's what you're trying to do).

e.g.
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 essid MyNetwork
dhcpcd wlan0

I use dhcpcd on my slackware and it worked for me when I was playing with slamd64, but the distro had *issues* with my boradcom card...I got sick of looking for 64bit applications and just once again came back to native slackware (never let me down yet)

Thanks a lot cacthetic and jerkstore. Since I was an idiot, I kept typing "dhcp wlan0 up" instead of "dhcpcd wlan0 up" Anyway, it worked out good.
