No, I have plasma5 installed. I am not so much into fonts. My eyes are not that good anymore. I just want to avoid possible problems.

so the problem is with WM rather than ff or thunderbird as Plasma users are not affected while e.g xfce users encounter font rendering problems?

Also firefox thunderbird are affected, xfce I do not know

I don't have problems with fonts in ff or thunderbird and I am running Plasma. That is why I wonder if this is WM issue and gtk is a "victim".
