problem with compling skim

When i am running the configure script, the following error message shows up:

Quote:
Checking for kde-config : kde-config was NOT found in your PATH
Make sure kde is installed properly
(missing package kdebase-devel?)
I have been googling for an hour but i can't still figure out what goes wrong ... What kde-config actually is and what's wrong with that?

(I am using Slackware 10.2 with a kernel of 2.6.16)

Welcome to LQ!

These are the KDE packages that come with Slackware-10.2:
Code:
staff@aihua:~$ cat /etc/slackware-version
Slackware 10.2.0
staff@aihua:~$ ls /var/log/packages/kde*
/var/log/packages/kde-i18n-zh_CN-3.4.2-noarch-1 /var/log/packages/kdelibs-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdeaccessibility-3.4.2-i486-1 /var/log/packages/kdemultimedia-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdeaddons-3.4.2-i486-1 /var/log/packages/kdenetwork-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdeadmin-3.4.2-i486-1 /var/log/packages/kdepim-3.4.2-i486-2
/var/log/packages/kdeartwork-3.4.2-i486-2 /var/log/packages/kdesdk-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdebase-3.4.2-i486-2 /var/log/packages/kdetoys-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdebindings-3.4.2-i486-1 /var/log/packages/kdeutils-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdeedu-3.4.2-i486-2 /var/log/packages/kdevelop-3.2.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdegames-3.4.2-i486-1 /var/log/packages/kdewebdev-3.4.2-i486-1
/var/log/packages/kdegraphics-3.4.2-i486-1
There is no kdebase-devel, though there is kdebase and kdevelop. Perhaps searching at KDE.org will turn it up?
As for the error message, you should find kde-config here:
Code:
staff@aihua:~$ locate kde-config
/opt/kde/bin/kde-config
That is the proper path.

If you'd like I have a Slackware package for SKIM for Slackware-10.2 (skim_1_4.tgz).
