problem reading cdrom and external drive in Dolphin (slackware 13.1)

little problem I ran into. I inserted a disc and tried to access it through Dolphin. It shows up in the directory explorer thing as a disc and with the disc name, but it has a little / thing in the bottom corner of the icon, and when I try to access it, it gives me this long error on the bottom of the file area (can't remember what all it said, something about 'harvey' and being unable to find the directory in /etc/fstab). The same thing happened with an external drive, which seemed to work fine before but now has the same problem. Any idea on a solution?

In order to access external usb drives and discs you have to be apart of the plugdev group.

add your username in plugdev group in /etc/group

I was running as root when this happened (fresh reinstall, hadn't set up a limited user yet). Wouldn't root be in that by default?

using root, adduser first (it's bad idea to login in GUI as root). After adduser, edit /etc/group and add user that already been created to the 'plugdev', 'power', 'cdrom', 'audio', 'video' and 'netdev' groups. (just write the username in the end of every group).

hopes that will help.
