Printing from W2k- access denied, why???

I have 2 machine net : W2k and Slack9. Samba seems to work OK, I can mount W2k shares on Slack machine and vice versa, with one exception : when I try to print from W2k to Linux machine (I have printer connected to Linux comp, driven by CUPS, locally works OK), I receive "access denied". I intended to use drivers locally installed on W2k machine to avoid installing this Adobe stuff. I can see this Linux printer in "network neighborhood" in W2k, can install locally drivers for it in W2k (with "add printer") and everything seems to be OK, but when I try to print - "access denied"!!!
Any ideas?

I myself is having problem printing even from Slackware. But as others had advice me. Try looking at teh access_log and error_log for cups.

Before that, maybe you want to increase the logging level to debug or even debug_2 in cupsd.conf.

OK, permission in /var/spool/samba was set wrong. Now works OK. Sorry to bother you, I've forgotten to check it. One must consider so many points when setting something in Slack (or in Linux generall) - but that's why it is so interesting.

I had the same problem with w2k client.

Add option in your printer section

printer driver = XXXXXX

Where XXXXX means exact name of windows driver to use

part from my smb.conf

[MyPrinter1]

printer driver = HP LaserJet 4Si
