Printing

Sorry Slackers,

If this in detail is somewhere then I am truly stumped on this. I have a home wireless network with my laptop (slackware) and 2 windows xp desktops connected via a wireless linksys router. My problem is I can read and write to the shared folders on the xp machines via samba but cannot connect to the printers attached to the machines. I have tryed numerous how to's but keep comong up empty. Would sure be thankful if someone has a how to or thread how they connect their linux machine to a windows connected printer to print. By the way the printers are ho photosmarts d5160's and at linux printing they are ok, so must be me in the samba setup or I sure do not understand cups.

Thanks,

Todd aka fibster

If you setup samba for printers this will mean that your linux box is sharing them. Witch is not true if I understand.
You need to configure cups or any other printing utility that you use.
It would be really nice to see some log of what went wrong.
