Question Printable Slackware "The Book"?

Hi all, I'm getting ready to do my first Slackware install and am very pleased with such a great install guide! However, does anyone have a link to a printable version of "The Book"?

Thanks!

Hello there,

I would very much like to recommend shilo's guide. It started as a thread here at LQ but has now also a completely dedicated site. It's great!

Id have to second Bebo's recommendation for Shilo's guide. Very easy to follow and very informative. I have also started working a ground up guide from installing, configuring, and tweaking. Its no where close to being done yet, but its coming along nicely.

Some other good places are userlocal.com, and the bitbender posts.. great guides..

Very cool! Thanks gentlemen. I printed off Shilo's guide and a couple of others.

Wish me luck!

The 2.0 version is on your install DVD (or one of the CD's, if you got that version) in the slackbook directory both in html, ps and pdf versions. It is from 2006 so quite a bit out-of-date by now.
If you haven't got your install media anymore, it - of course - is present too in the slackbook directory of your favorite slackware mirror or on the site ww.slackbook.org.
That latter site also hosts the beta of a revision TO "The Book", which seems to have been abandoned, there have been no activities on it for quite some years.

For what it's worth, here's a 500-page-book about Slackware 14.2 (in french).

Cheers,

Niki

If anyone's wondering what happened: a spambot bumped this thread and the post was removed.

Well, thanks, awesome.

How about a Swedish book: https://www.adlibris.com/se/bok/effe...-9789197726092

It is not Slackware-specific, but it covers the most essential for Slackware.

It is always a little sad when you see how once great things grow old and fade. Mr Shilo has not posted on these forums since 2008 and his nice guide survives only on the WayBack machine. All these things will be lost.... like tears in the rain...
