PPPD problem

I am using Slackware 10 and using a dial up modem (external) to connect to the ISP. Everytime it dials and authenticates the pppd demon dies off with a error message 19.

The error message 19 means that it is wrong username or password but that account works well in other systems.

I would like to know why this pppd demon is dying? and solutions

You may want to use KDE's Kppp which works well, has a gui and logs the connection.

sorry forgot to mention this error is of the kppp only

Check again to make sure there are no typos. I am the world's worst at typing!
Also, what have you selected as the modem - /dev/modem, or ttyS0? I had better luck with ttyS0 than I did with the link.
