once and a while ill get a killing of pppd

run xfce as primary wm
use kppp for front end for now until i find a litter ppd front end....
I have a biostar M7NCD Nforce2 chipset + 10/100 ethernet onboard (i am not Lan networked )
i am running a
01:08.0 Serial controller: 5610 56K FaxModem 56K FaxModem Model 5610 (rev 01)
and for onboard eithernet
00:04.0 Ethernet controller: nVidia Corporation nForce2 Ethernet Controller (rev a1)
if i remeber i had this issue in 2.4.xx kernels as well as 2.6.xx kernels
? is it possible i misconfigered my ethernet
? have any ran into isp's shedding users for the isp's bandwidth issues
