ppp problems.. leads to no adsl

ok so i've been trying to configure my usb adsl modem and i've finally got it to appear as an ethernet device (nas0). But when I try to run pppd i get a bad error: no file found called ppp/plugins/pppoe.so. I need pppoe.so appareantly and its not there, i've never had this problem with other distros.

Does anyone know where i can get this file and why its not there after a fresh install? Only thing i've done since configuring my usb modem is switching to 2.6.3 which im running on now. A quick response would be really appreaciated. Im so close to getting online and this is very big frustration.

Not quick but hey I just got on...

Im using adsl-setup, adsl-connect etc... to connect with mine.

The adsl-** programs came with my install of slack 9.1.

(Can you read that better jong357)

??? Huh? You mean Roaring Penguin and "adsl-setup"/"adsl-start"?

Anyway..... What does your lsmod state? Do you have 'ppp_generic'? You might also try using adsl-***, whatever that is..... ;) Try running 'adsl-setup' and use nas0 as the device... If you have your dns numbers, go ahead and give them, otherwise type 'server' when it asks.... username, password... Its all pretty much straight forward.... try 'eth0' as well for the card. You are using an ethernet card no?
