PPP is really that required???

Im compiling the kernel on another computer right now... and well... here's my situation.

I use an ADSL connection... BUT i got the DSL modem working as a router... so I dont have to use a "PPPoE" program in order to access the net, the router does DHCP, so i turn the computer and it has Internet instantly.

SO!, i didnt compile PPP on the kernel.......... because I tought I wouldn't need it... I just need TCP/IP, the filtering stuff... and support for my NIC, and thats it right???...... right???

Did I screwed it up?? Im I gonna have to REcompile?

If your not using ppp for your connection then obviously you don't need it in the kernel... just compile it in as a module if you not sure.
