Postfix problems
"current" with postfix 2.2.8, procmail and courier-imap 4.0.6,
uucp transport to ISP Fetching mail from my ISP, I find that it is being dropped into /var/spool/clientmqueue and sticks there. Postfix main.cf is looking at /var/spool/postfix I found that sendmail was somehow also installed, am I correct in thinking that I must remove sendmail. I think that clientmqueue is the sendmail queue? The imap is working in /home/user/Maildir mode and I can send mail between local users. |
Sendmail is the default mta for slackware. You might have to uninstall it if you use postfix or something else. You should find what you need to do in the postfix docs, as having sendmail installed is common.

Sort of solved by dropping back to the 2.2.3 postfix from linuxpackages. The 2.2.5 version there requires mysql. The 2.2.8 version was by the same packager but not on linuxpackages as it was built for current, not 10.2.

Why not compile postfix with the exact options you need?

Now apears to be working with the latest postfix 2.2.9 build from Linuxpackages. The only (minor) error is a missing mailq.1 man file.
The 2.2.9 changelog reported a bug fix with error handling of the spool queue which may be related. I suspect that I am now the only uucp/postfix/Slackware user left. |
