Question Possible to interrupt the boot procedure?


Aloha!

At our SCO UNIX Systems @ work I can interrupt the boot procedure with pressing the ENTER Key shortly after UNIX begins to boot, so I can login in runlevel 1.

Is there a similar method with slackware, or general with linux at all?

To boot in runlevel 1, you should do so when your bootloader is starting (before the kernel is loaded). The procedure depends on your bootloader: grub or lilo. Here is a page explaining how to do for both of them:
