Possible Slackware bug concerning openssl konqueror and htpps

Hello slackers!

I noticed that when I updated my openssl and openssl-solibs packages from 0.9.7g to 0.9.8b konqueror couldn't handdle https urls and crashes when accessing crypto from settings. I downgraded to 0.9.7g version and everything worked fine. Could someone please try to generate this on another machine to see whether it is a bug or it is related to my configuration.
I use Slackware-current with kde 3.5.3. The exact error message when trying to access https urls is "protocol died unexpectedtly".

How did you 'update'?

Thru slapt-get or swaret?

If so, did you read the changelogs for openssl and openssl-libs?

Did you compile them from source? Or installed from a precompiled repository?

If a precompiled package, what do the requirments in the package state?

Also, if precompiled, did you run 'installpkg' or 'upgradepkg'?

What distro version are you running?

What Konqeuror version?

I'm asking because mine works perfect. There are many variables here. You have more than likely not uncovered a bug, just a poorly done 'upgrade'

same problem

Hi folks

I compiled KDE and OpenSSL from source (among many other things, I use my own remasterized Slackware, have been using it since last october with no problems so far).

The ONLY things I changed from the original Slackware SlackBuilds, in KDE / Konqueror and OpenSSL, are:

-march=i486 -mtune=i686

with

-march=i686

I hadn't noticed that problem (I use Firefox) until this moment. I tried to connect to my DynDNS account from Konqueror and had that same problem.

I will try to test it more carefully next days. Any help/information about it is welcome.

I'm running Slackware-current too and I have no problems with konqueror at https sites. Openssl & KDE packages are the stock versions.

What output do you get after running
Code:
openssl version
in console ?

Ok it seems that it is a problem that is caused only by my configuration. The good news is that it works fine with the 0.9.7 version of openssl.
