https://www.steinberg.net/en/company/developers.html

Looks like it is a valid DMCA takedown raised by steinberg.de for VST.

Sorry @ponce for losing your hard work, I for one I consider VST just some (patented) bullshit. Did really we need it in SBO?

BTW, hint, hint: I wonder if NVIDIA is really happy when people repackage their blobs, too...

hi, do not despair nothing is lost: I wasn't able to fix the fork until today (I was busy and also traveling), so it will be re-enabled very soon.

a mirror of the repository pre-takedown is available at

https://gitlab.com/Ponce/slackbuilds

with an additional interface available at

http://cgit.ponce.cc/slackbuilds/

this has already been discussed extensively on the slackbuilds-users mailing list

https://lists.slackbuilds.org/piperm...ne/021596.html
https://lists.slackbuilds.org/piperm...ne/021612.html

by the way the real motive of the querelle here is that Steinberg decided to deprecate their VST plugins API version 2 and to support only version 3 and went this way, most probably, to remove every possibility of people still developing with the v2 API: third-party VST plugins developers are much more pissed than us, believe me.

I've not yet rebased against the latest SBo (14.2-20180614.1), I'm waiting for github to re-enable the repository.

if you want to just sync the one updated on june 9th you can (as root)
Code:
rm -fR /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git
cd /var/lib/sbopkg
git clone https://gitlab.com/Ponce/slackbuilds.git SBo-git
alternatively, you can wait until github guys re-enable it and I update it with SBo's latest additions then sync as usual.

Thanks! That's good to know that the github repo will come back up also.

Just wondering where all this stood. As I downloaded sbopkg and installed it, however it wont sync so I am guessing there are additional configuration that need to be done after installing the software...?

@ponce, thanks. I had to change the repo branch and name... but I now get

-------------[ start of error
Syncing with the remote repository into /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git.
Initialized empty Git repository in /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git/.git/
fatal: unable to connect to github.com:

github.com[1: 192.30.253.113]: errno=Connection timed out

Removing .gitignore
fatal: ambiguous argument 'HEAD': unknown revision or path not in the working tree.
Use '--' to separate paths from revisions, like this:
'git <command> [<revision>...] -- [<file>...]'
fatal: your current branch 'master' does not have any commits yet

Repository update complete.

-------------[ end of error

The 192 address doesnt seem right... i can ping it... but.

what happens if you issue, as root, the following commands manually?
Code:
rm -fR /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git
git clone git://github.com/Ponce/slackbuilds.git /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git
please paste here the output of those and, after, also the output of the following ones
Code:
rm -fR /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git
git clone https://github.com/Ponce/slackbuilds.git /var/lib/sbopkg/SBo-git

ok so it might be that you have connection to remote port 9418 (the one used cloning repositories via git://) or to those two specific hosts (192.30.253.113 and 192.30.253.112) blocked and I sincerely have no idea why.

but you have yet to report on the result of the second two commands that try to clone the repository via https://.
