plus sign on ls -l for a directory created by slackware packaged samba

Hi - I am puzzled.

Recently I started using the samba 3.2.15 (package) from slackware and noticed on profiles that a ls -l would give me drwx------+. Accounts created before using a samba 3.2.15 (and earlier) that I compiled into /usr/local/samba the premissions would be just drwx------.

This appears related to acl's.

Is this compiled into the samba package?

Does slackware do anything with acl's?

I have been having some registry problems using the profiles created before I ran the packaged samba. I seem to have to delete the profile in samba and the client and login to get a new profile. In the new profile the pluses start appearing on directory names.

Thanks,

Denis Becker

Yes, the plus sign indicates that the directory or file has extra entries in the ACL. This seems to be built in the samba package for Slackware. The SlackBuild script uses --with-acl-support=yes in the "configure" step. You can list the ACL entries for a file or directory with the command "getfacl".
