Please help configuring trackpoing mouse - X unusable

Hello everybody,

I've recently installed slackware 14 on my old fujitsu p1610 laptop and now have some problems configuring it.
The laptop has a trackpoing mouse only, and it's working very slow. It literally hurts my finger when i try to move the cursor.
GUI mouse setting available in KDE didn't help.
I've spend couple of hours playing with xset and xinput and trying to echo some value to relevant /sys/platform/devices... files, but nothing helps.
I only managed to slow down the cursor even more. Could anyone please help with increasing mouse sensitivity?

Have a look at /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf

I don't know if Synaptics drives that trackpad, but chances are it does.

Edit: Oh dear, you said trackpoing. I read that as trackpad instead of trackpoint. Sorry. :-(
