Playing DVD's in Slackware 9.1
I'm having trouble with this. Both Xine and MPlayer are reporting that they cannot open device /dev/dvd.
Current config for that drive is /dev/hdc with a symlink to /dev/dvd. Both packages are pointed at /dev/dvd in their setup menus. Here's my line for the drive in /etc/fstab:- /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd iso9660 noauto, user,ro 0 0 And this is the error I recieve in Xine:- - xine engine error - Input plugin failed to open mrl 'dvd:/' Clicking 'done' on this error gives me this:- The source can't be read. Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain data (eg disc not in drive). (/dev/dvd) I can happily mount the drive and browse the DVD. I've also tried mounting/unmounting before attempting to play the DVD, and pointing Xine straight to /dev/hdc. Any ideas much appreciated. Bawbag. |
What are you actual permissions on the device, /dev/hdc ??
