pkgtool in current

since last update of this package on 26.9.6 its not working on my machine anymore.

when i start the program i can install one or two packages and then suddenly the terminal window turnes black.

a listing of all running processes shows pkgtool is running two times and a process called dialog is running. i have to kill all three by hand.

afterwards i cant even start pkgtool, sceen goes black and ps deliveres the following:
4328 pts/1 S+ 0:00 /bin/sh /sbin/pkgtool
4330 pts/1 S+ 0:00 dialog --title Slackware Package Tool (pkgtool version 11.0) --menu \nWelcome to the Slackware package tool.\n\nWhich option.....

the only way to restart the programm is to restart my machine.

is this a bug in the package or is my slackware installation allready broken?

pkgtool works fine here. Try downloading the package again and verifying it (gpg and/or md5sum). Then upgrade it with
Code:
# upgradepkg --reinstall pkgtools-11.0.0-i486-4
Edit: It dawned on me that if pkgtool is broken, then upgradepkg might be broken as well. If the above doesn't work and you have a slackware boot disk then boot with it. Mount your root drive on /mnt (or whatever), then upgrade the package with
Code:
# ROOT=/mnt upgradepkg --reinstall pkgtools-11.0.0.i486-4

upgrade was done by slackpkg and the package is still on my disk.
so i downloaded the package again from a different source compared the md5 sums but they are equal.
installation of the just downloaded package doesnt change the situation so the package seems to be ok
but thanks for the suggestion

It's been working fine for me so far. I know that doesn't help your situation--just another datapoint.

Acutally dialog comes with pkgtools. Not sure what could be causing your problems.
