pkgtool and gnu screen

When I run pkgtool and sbopkg inside of screen the display is garbled with several fields blackened out and black background. I have tested this in Konsole and Yakuake. Outside of screen if works fine. Anything to check here?

Not a solution, but maybe you should try tmux instead where it works fine.

I agree. I use tmux for years now, it's a modern screen, very cool.

Works for me on -current, in screen within Konsole, as well as screen on a virtual console.

What's your TERM variable set to? I've had some success with screen problems just setting TERM=linux.

Setting the TERM variable to TERM=linux in .screenrc fixed this. Thanks!

I got the old display back for some reason when restarting screen some times, but this also seems to work:

In .screenrc:

setenv TERM screen
attrcolor b ".I" # allow bold colors - necessary for some reason
termcapinfo xterm 'Co#256:AB=\E[48;5;%dm:AF=\E[38;5;%dm' # tell screen how to set colors. AB = background, AF=foreground
defbce on # use current bg color for erased chars

In .bashrc:

if [ "$TERM" != "xterm-256color" ]; then
export TERM=xterm-256color
fi
