I've had some problems on 14.2 with PHP-7.1, having rebuilt apr-util.
I rebuilt apr-util to add a compile-time option not in standard build. apr-util was compiled and installed as an upgrade to existing slack-14.2 with otherwise standard packages.

Built PHP-7.1 later and replaced 5.6.
I started getting serious errors in httpd while running some PHP pages. Since then I reverted to 5.6 on that system and not bothered with further details, and lost the logs.

Just saying, it may be relevant to some people upgrading major versions.
