Phone to computer file transfers

I plug my LG-VS980 to Slackware 14.1 XFCE desktop and both interact gracefully, but when I copy files from the phone to the computer the files get renamed. Not a big deal when this happens to photos and videos, but .apk get renamed to a 3 or 4 digit number. Folders get the same renaming, and folders within the folder also get renamed.

Is there a setting somewhere that does this?

I hit that too: it's a bug with gvfs that seems to be fixed with 1.18.0 (but I have still to test it)

EDIT: unfortunately, the newer gvfs requires a newer glib2...

Hey Moises,

Do you have a WiFi network? If so, you can use this app to run a mini FTP server on your phone:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...TPServer&hl=en

Then you can log into your phone with any FTP client (I use gFTP, because it comes with Slackware) and copy files either way.

The app doesn't have any ads. If you want to be sure, you can also get it from f-droid.org.

Cheers,

Rob.
