Question permition problem with mounted fs

hi there!
i get *permition denied* when i try to access mounted vfat partition as normal user. No such problem when i access as root, though.... Well... i created a directory with drwxr-xr-x permitions as a mount point... but after mount command the directory has changed permitions to: drwxr--r-- and i can't browse it. Unsless i mount this partition manually as user (with *users* option in fstab)
What should i do to sovle this problem.. and mount the fs with the needed permitions
Thanks!

For FAT32 partitions you have to edit your /etc/fstab line to change permissions. Changing permissions on the mount point will have no effect. If you want the partition to be automounted at boot with ordinary users having read/write permissions, edit the relevant line as follows:

/dev/hdxx <mount point> vfat codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1,quiet,umask=0 0 0

If you don't want the partition to be automounted, but you want ordinary users to have mount and read/write permissions, edit it:

/dev/hdxx <mount point> vfat user,noauto,codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1,quiet,umask=0 0 0
