Gtk-Gnutella, Limewire, Mutella, Phex and Qtella will all work in linux. These are on the Gnutella network along with BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, Swapper, and XoloX for windows so the speeds and the search results are alright but still, there not as good as kazaa.

Donkey!!
If you have used the donkey network in windows(eMule,eDonkey), then a good choice would be mlDonkey - version 2.04rc4 was out recently.
It supports the donkey network, overnet and a whole LOT of others(Soulseek,OpenNap,Limewire,Bittorrent, etc). check out MLDonkey World (http://mldonkey.berlios.de/). |
lmule, based on eDonkey is another P2P software.

my favorite is limewire www.limewire.com

you seem to have posted this in the wrong section.
|
Correct! Seems when I loged in it brougt me to this thread.
Sorry, paul:newbie: |
giFT seems to have some problems on the cvs tree right now. This isn't totally surprising, as it's in active development. I'm not able to run it right now either. Hopefully they'll get it up soon.
I'm sure that, at some point soon, they'll have a release version out soon. Saiz66, don't be afraid of it. Wine even has an uninstall script for the source distribution. Just read the (extensive) documentation in winehg.org. It's quite good, and easy to understand. |
i just dont understand the making the files like the windows, program files... and so on... is that really necessary? should i listen to the instructions and follow them on winehq.org b/c i read another wine tutorial which gives somewat different instructions than those on winehq.org... also has anybody successfully ran counterstrike on slackware 9.0? if so can they help me install wine and get counterstrike on it? Thnx.

the reason why wine sets up its directories like in windows, is because
windows software requires a windows-like environment; many dirs in windows are obligatory; some can not be renamed without huge problems.... but in short: yes it is necessary. just follow the instructions on winehq.. as for counterstrike, check here. good luck. |
