PCI warning new kernel
I'm using Slackware 10.1. I recently upgraded to kernel 2.6.10 from the second installation disk. Now I'm getting the following warning while booting up,
Code:
PCI: Using ACPI for IRQ routing |
I have the same message and have found no problems related to this, i.e. all PCI devices are working.
So if all your PCI devices work, don't worry. If one doesn't work, try what the message says. |
No PCI devices here
I do not have any PCI device. I just wanted to know the details about the message.
What change in the kernel 2.6 causes this?? |
This "error" is really a warning. If you have some PCI devices running drivers that haven't been maintained properly, the PCI routing may not work properly and you may have to use the workaround specified in the error message. Unless your kernel crashes at that point or you have non-working PCI devices that used to work before, there is no action that you need to take.
There is nothing to resolve if you don't have PCI-related problems. Just ignore the message. Quote:
