Patching problems for LiveCD

(Problem solved. Kind of...)

Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of making my custom Slackware distribution into a live CD version, but am having troubles with the procedure.

I'm trying to do it through the scripts and patches found here and here.

I have successfully completed the steps leading up to my stumbling block (ie: patching to support AUFS, SquashFS, and half way through the LZMA process to enable full functionality for the kernel).

But during the final patching, I keep coming up with the following error:

Quote:
root@Crazed-Weasel:/tmp/livecd# patch -p0 < /tmp/livecd/sqlzma-patch/sqlzma2u-3.3.patch

I'm running the 2.6.23.12-smp kernel under Slackware12, and no matter how I modify the patches in relation to my particular setup I'll always stumble on the same area.

If there's anyone out there who could help me progress further, that would be greatly appreciated. And if you need me to supply further information (from outputs and the like) I can do that too.

Cheers,
- Smurfed

Were those patches designed for the EXACT version of squashfs you're using? None of them seem to apply perfectly. You should be able to use the rejects to see what parts are not matching up.

They were. All the versioning was correct and in place, except for the fact that they were built for the 2.6.24 kernel instead of the 2.6.23.12 kernel that I was running.

I had tried to edit the patches to compensate for the differing kernel version, and all had worked except for those two little hunks that failed. And after no success in tracking down the specific error that they were producing, I just bit the bullet and upgraded the kernel instead of modifying the patches.

I got it working, so I guess that this is a redundant topic now. Thanks for trying to help Matir, it's appreciated ^_^

Cheers,
