After a quick look I found the following three lines interesting:

pnp 00:0b: can't evaluate _CRS: 12300<6>pnp: PnP ACPI: found 14 devices
parport_pc 00:0b: disabled
parport_pc: probe of 00:0b failed with error -22

I just did some quick googling and found this thread, which seems to touch on the issue. It suggests booting with the
Code:
pnpacpi=off
parameter. It's something to try, anyway. This page describes another possible solution (in the "Enabling devices > Parallel port" section).

Why do you think I am posting here, now? It was a communications issue that somebofy failed to make clear and then the peanut gallery started accusing me of being a know it all.

I did not want to get into strife so my "solution" was to shut the thread down and look for help elsewhere.

If I "knew it all" why would I have been posting in the first place?

And the individual who made the stupid accusation stated they were being "sarcastic." Don't have time for that.

I'm going to leave that alone. Relax, and enjoy your holidays. I meant no harm, and I seriously think there was a communication breakdown. I *am* a sarcastic person, and it doesn't show well in text. I will say, however, that 'closing' a thread (when you don't have that power) and opening a very similar one is likely against the forum rules. However, I am no moderator, so you can ignore that comment if you like. After repeated attempts at getting information, it just didn't happen. You have been much more responsive in this thread.

Apparently a bug with some motherboards and BIOS', the solution is to add the following line to your lilo.conf file:

append="pnpapci=off"

Kudos to T3Slider for Googling...

I'm glad the issue has been really resolved now. Some similar problems can also be solved by turning off the "Quick Boot" in the BIOS (for those machines that support that option).
