package creation and slack-desc file

hello,
im trying to make the 'perfect' package following the instructions from the linuxpackages.net pdf's. when i install the package, i dont get a package description, its just blank. ive got a /usr/install/slack-desc file (although i think the file may be in the wrong directory). by the way i think the format of the file is ok, ive got the 11 lines etc. can anyone advise?

it just goes in the /install directory, not /usr/install

download a package from a slackware mirror open it up and check it out. will give you an idea of the layout

http://slackwiki.org has some information on package creation too...

hello Robby, looking at http://slackwiki.org/Building_A_Package, i was wondering what/why this step is performed?

Now strip libs/bins within the temporary directory

That strips the debug and other unnecessary symbols from the binaries and shared object files. It's a (small) space savings, but the cumulative savings over the entire tree adds up...
