Order of network interfaces in Slackware 14.2

I remember that back in Slackware 14.1, on computers with more than one network interface, I had to manually map interface names to MAC addresses in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules so they always appear in the same order after Slackware boots.

Do I need to do the same in Slackware 14.2 or this is not a problem anymore?

With multiple NICs in any OS I'd advise mapping them to the relevant interface via the MAC. This mitigates against any "renumbering" of the interfaces in the event of a NIC failure. This comes from bitter experience with an inherited server in a datacenter that had 4 onboard nics and 2 x 4 port NICs on expansion cards. One of the expansion cards failed and the four NICs on the second card were re-assigned

Ideally, the system should add the MAC addresses to that file on the first boot automatically and they shouldn't change again. That's what's always happened in my systems. I'm not sure why you would've needed to do them manually with 14.1.
