Linux abstract poetry at its finest. 10/10, would read again.

I run Opera when Firefox has a problem. I download Opera's package. It works.

I downloaded the rpm from their site. I did an rpm2tgz then did an installpkg on that file. Everything worked fine.

Don't try to run the rpm directly. For some reason it doesn't work.

deb2tgz is not working properly for me lately. Seems I can just use ark to expand it and run the binary but I don't like doing it that way. Can't find an rpm. The slackbuild I have installed is old and complains that it is out of date.
Anyway, I used sbopkg to compile and install. Works well in spite of being out of date

It is possible that the deb package has its data compressed using xz. If so, the original deb2tgz doesn't support that. However, someone forked the original project and has added support for different compression formats. The github is here. It doesn't have a Slackware package available, but it does have a SlackBuild to quickly package the program into a Slackware package.

As an alternative to getting opera, you could use ruario's latest-opera script.

Just a suggestion. Next time try to ask before the acid is kicking in. :)

Cheers,
