OpenOffice 2 beta in Slack
I can just find RPM-files for OpenOffice 2 beta, so I guess I have to use rpm2tgz... Will that work ok?
Another question: Will the final release also only be available in the RPM-format? I really like the installer in OpenOffice 1. |

I imagine the final release will be the RPMs, as it's touted on the OOo site that they will release OOo 2 in "the native formats" (RPM? Native?!)
The advantage is that the RPMs are easily enough converted into proper Slackware packages, which can then be maintained using the package tools (installpkg/removepkg). |
i found it the easiest to use the package from linuxpackages. installing it with pkgtool worked like a charme for me.

Also, the OO build in LP is 1.9.79, an old and very buggy one. I highly recommend using a .95 build and above (currently m100) |
