Dropline's PAM components may be used without GNOME itself.

There are some features that we do not provide by default though (pam_ldap, for instance), for security reasons and to keep things relatively simple. You will need to build that in seperately.

thnks zborgerd for tht pam info, anyway before using ur pam let me try whatever i can, and if eveerything fails i will use ur pam hi

yes..Alien Bob, i forgot tht, ok let me have a little google...(now outside)

first i thought someone may be knowing how to setup ldap client in slack without pam, without additional difficulty, so posted it. otherwise i wil read the openldap help pages. (there they discuss only with ldap server thing)
