I' on the way to sett up Open Office on my Slack 9.0 machine.

Maybe is it not so wise? Do you think I should go for the KDE office instead?

If I am going for the Open Office do I kneed to down load a so called "JRE"

nope you dont need it really but it is good if you have it you can get it on Slackware downloadservers in the extra folder der is an jre tgz package ;-)

OpenOffice is great compatible to MS Office and the 1.1 will rock RC3 rocks already ;-)
