Open Office Install Problem (OT)

This guy must be kidding... I don't believe he is serious. Someone who has been using Linux for 8 years couldn't make this kind of questions.

//Moderator.note: this thread contains the fat that remains after performing liposuction on http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=795807. While making OT remarks is not a direct violation of the LQ Rules excessive use of it will impact the good atmosphere we believe is necessary. This goes of course for the OP as well as for anyone who replies. 15 percent fat is stretching it, hence the liposuction. This thread remains closed as it serves no purpose anymore.

Everybody's fattening up the troll, he should be obese by now.

Go on, keep feeding him 'til he bursts.

I'd unsubscribe, but I have a bet on how far this thread will go.

In the spirit of Slackware fellowship, here is my contribution to keeping this post going.

Sorry to join the party late and hijack the thread - but does Slackware support RPM's?

Yeah, it goes at 5400 or 7200 RPM. :)

Geez, as old as Slackware is, you'd expect it to spin 78s! :D

You just made my day! I read the whole thread and starting thinking I was in General...

spampig 03-26-2010 11:30 AM

I thought 78's were being introduced in Slack 14? I'm still running cylinders here......

:D :hattip:

Geez, first there's no Open Office in Slackware, and now you're telling me that it doesn't support 78s!

Yes.

Installing RPMs directly, however, is risky because they aren't packaged for Slackware.

When I booted up my Slackware DVD, I waited for ages, then when the film started it was disappointing. Blue and green rectangles with writing on them? I was expecting more action. What kind of director is he - this Volkerding guy?

I don't know! I waited all year for that movie!
