Open Office and fonts

How could I make my OpenOffice 1.1.4 to use ttf fonts installed in my /home/ipolit/.fonts directory? All other programs are using these fonts. I've also put the path to them in XF86Config file and enabled free type. If I open a file, which is written with some of these fonts, it appears correct, but I can't choose one of them when I start writing new document. Thanks.
