only gona get 1 CD.


I am about 30 mins from geting ONE slackware CD, does anyone know how to install using only CD one? i wont have access to the source CD's or install disk 2, is it even possable to install only from disk 1?

dont worry, i dont care if i have no GUI, ill jsut install xfree86 and fluxbox from source.

don't worry about source cd's; they are not needed during install

for a one-cd install, it is just the same as a normal 2-cd install, but u just answer "no" when the installer asks for disc 2

it will finalize everything and u will have slack and most important packages installed, minus a gui of course

also, u can do a harddrive install; just download both discs and mount them (of course u will probably need to get a bootdisk to do this) but u could also just burn cd 1, and then mount cd 2's image and install like that

Bro - if you only want to download one CD for a Slack install, then download v9.0 instead of v9.1. -- J.W.
