On Mirror, Why Twin Source Directories?

On all the servers providing Slackware64-15.0 source packages, that I have checked, identical directories containing the package series subdirectories exist, i.e., /slackware64 and/source.

Why, and which should I use?

My go-to mirror is http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/

You are confusing the built packages with the sources.

slackware64/ contains the pre-built packages of the operating system, whereas source/ contains the scripts and source code which build them - each is separated into the sets they belong to, hence why you are seeing two different directories showing the same sets.
