Old LiLO vs. recent kernel

Hi,

One of my machines is a "build box", where I build lots of packages for a complete Slackware desktop. It's a quadruple boot, 2x13.37 (one for each architecture), and now I'm installing 2x14.0RC2 for developing my future "Enterprise Desktop".

LiLO is handled by the Slackware 13.37 install. And I now just discover that it's too old to handle recent kernels. Tried to add a stanza for Slackware 14.0, failed, googled, started to think hard.

Right now I think upgrading LiLO on my Slackware 13.37 install might be the thing to do. Is this straighforward? I mean: can I simply grab the SlackBuild from current and run it on 13.37? Since I need this machine for work, I'd rather ask first before ruining a sunny afternoon.

Cheers from tropical France.

OK, I finally gave it a spin, and it was really simple in fact. Grab the LILO sources and SlackBuild from current, rebuild them on 13.37, upgradepkg lilo, and then running 'lilo' again. That's all.

You don't even have to rebuild it. In moving to 3.2.x kernels some months ago I found the "current" lilo package itself installs and runs fine in otherwise vanilla 13.37.
